Getting Started

Application Key

Important: Usage of the JavaScript Maps API requires an application key. If you do not already have one, please sign in to the MapQuest Developer Network and visit the Manage AppKeys page.

 

Assumptions

You understand the basics of the JavaScript language.
You understand the limitations of DOCTYPEs and browser compatibility modes.

 

Official Browser Support

These browsers are officially supported, however most current browsers using the Webkit or Gecko rendering engines should function properly.

Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9
Firefox 3.5 - 10
Safari 5
Google Chrome

In addition, mobile browsers on the following operating systems are supported:

Apple iOS 4, 5
Android 2.1 - 3.2
