Counting number of transactions in Radius Search API

I want to specify the geo-coordinates of a location, and get details of all the business in within a radius of 500 metres. For this, I am using a query string like : http://www.mapquestapi.com/search/v2/radius?key={api_key}&maxMatches=500&origin={origin}&radius=0.5&units='k'&shapeFormat={shapeFormat}

Please help me understand how many transactions will such a query count as if I make one api call.

<p>The request will result in

The request will result in at least one search transaction.

Depending on the origin value, it could also be a geocode transaction. If the origin is a lat/lng then there is no geocode. If the origin is text, then that text will be geocoded and count that transaction too.

For example, if I am giving the origin as latitude/longitude and the number of results returned for this call is 400. How many transactions will this count as ?

Regardless of the number of
Regardless of the number of search results, it will only be one search transaction. Hopefully, you're not really looking for 400 results.

I want around 100 search

I want around 100 search results. Hope, this will count as a single search transaction?

The number of results does
The number of results does not affect the number of transactions. If search results are zero or 100, there is only one search transaction per request to the API.
