Transaction count

We are in a seasonal business and the history for our key only goes back to May even though we've used the service for four years now. Our busy season is mid September to January. There doesn't seem to be a good way to estimate the number of transactions we will use. Will we be able to change our plan on the fly to allow continued service as usage ramps up? Will we be able to downgrade back to the free version for the 6+ months of the year we don't use the service much?

Reporting only goes back to
Reporting only goes back to the dates that we transitioned over to our new provisioning partner (May for open and June for licensed).   You can change your plan on the fly.

Will we be able to pay only

Will we be able to pay only the difference between plans when we upgrade? Say we buy the $99 30,000 transaction plan and toward the end of the month it looks like we'll go a little over. Will we be able to pay only the aditional $100 to upgrade to the 75,000 plan in order to maintain service or will we have to pay the entire $199 for a new plan?

Great question.  I am in the same situation and was wondering this too.

You will only pay for one
You will only pay for one plan at a time. So change plans at will!

If we change plans mid-month,

If we change plans mid-month, will the billing period change too?  For example, if we opt for the $99 plan on 15th September and are about to exceed the 30,000 transaction limit by 5th October, so upgrade that day to the $199 plan, will the monthly transaction count for the new plan then start from 5th October?

I'm sorry but that didn't

I'm sorry but that didn't really answer my question. Will we be able to pay only the difference when we upgrade plans during the month?

The billing cycle depends on
The billing cycle depends on the original plan choice. The cycle will keep renewing on the 15th.

You should only be charged
You should only be charged the difference for that month. But there is no pro-rating going on. You'll pay the difference even if you change on the last day of the cycle.

When I click on My Plan >

When I click on My Plan > Change Plan and click a Buy Now button for a different plan, the auto-renew date shows as today the 24th, but my previous pay cycle renew date is the 31st. From my understanding of what you said I was expecting to pay the difference between my current plan and the new plan with my auto-renew date staying the 31st. Is that correct, or what should I expect for my renew date and price?

Despite the display date, the billing cycle does not change when choosing a new plan. Sorry for the confusion. This is a bug to be addressed in a future release.

I updated my plan but was

I updated my plan but was charged the full amount for the new plan, and separately credited an amount that looks like it's based on a prorated remainder of days left of the old plan. I think this makes sense if my billing cycle now changed to the day the new plan was purchased. Where can I see my renew date to confirm?

Displaying the plan reset
Displaying the plan reset date is part of a future update. It looks like your reset date is the 31st.

Pre-paid

You should really offer a pre-paid option. Buy 100.000 credits and alert when at 90.000 or so. The volumes differ greatly per month and upgrading and downgrading plans every time isn't practical.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll forward this on to the team.

We are using the Basic plan

We are using the Basic plan and would like to return for a period of time to the Free plan. There is no downgrade-button, just "Cancel my Plan". What will happen if I use it?

RE: We are using the Basic plan
The option to cancel a plan stops the paid plan, immediately, and returns your account to the free plan with 15,000 transaction for the next month.  A refund for the unused transactions from your paid plan is sent to your credit card.  You can then purchase one of the plans again, at any time.

Transaction Count as part of web service response?

Is there a programmatic way to retrieve the remaining transactions left for an account?   It would be extremely handy if it was sent back as part of the API response for your web services.  Is that already implemented?  I didn't see any reference to that in the documentation for the Direcitons API.  I want to be able to shoot an email when our application nears the allowed monthly amount of trasactions.

MQBrianCoakley
There is no transaction api
There is no transaction api and there is no transaction count returned by any of the api calls. The reporting page in the Developer Network is the place to go for transaction counts.
